Steps for making pizza dough
Ingredients.
Make homemade pizza dough by adding:-
1packet of yeast with
1tsp sugar in
1cup warm water for 5-10 minutes.
Mix with 2.5-3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil.
Step by step method
To make the dough, mix the flour, yeast and salt/ sugar together in a large bowl and stir in the olive oil. Gradually add the water, mixing well to form a soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Steps after preparing the dough
Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to its maximum temperature (500-550°F) for at least 30-45 minutes. Place a pizza stone or steel on the highest or lowest rack for maximum heat.
Shape the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, gently press and stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle, keeping the edges slightly thicker for a crust.
Prepare for Transfer: Place the stretched dough on a pizza peel lightly dusted with flour or cornmeal to ensure it slides easily.
Add Toppings: Spread a thin layer of sauce (about 1/4 cup) onto the dough, leaving 1 inch around the edge. Top with shredded mozzarella and desired toppings.
Bake: Carefully slide the pizza onto the hot stone/steel. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
Ready to eat.
